... and to think I almost gave up doing these flipbooks after last year's "Get Well, Bob" film. And I hope there's a chance, a slight chance, FlipBook will be ready for the iPad... larger screen, more real estate to roam... that'd be sweet! That's all the reason i need to buy the iPad.
For this movie, Clyde and supporting cast were animated on the iphone - each frame drawn while using public transport. The only exception are the end titles... for this part, I used After Effects on my mac then exported each frame to an image file, threw them into my photo library, synced the iphone, launched flipbook.tv and combined those image files into frames.
I'm setting up a blog and have made provisions to add tutorials and such.
I'll let you guys know when it's ready, or email me at flipbook2009@bortq.com for updates.
i'v been wondering, do u make ur animations on the iphon, or some thing on the computer? because i'v heard people talk about thing they use on the computer and it makes me very confused.
well i was planning on taking some of the scenes on the trailer and adding to them to make the actual flipbook so i guess you could say that i did upload the unfinished flipbook. thank you soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo much for the advice you're a life saver, well, flipbook saver haha.
Just so you guys know, "The Clyde" movie almost suffered a tragic fate one-quarter from completion... when my iPhone began showing signs of crashing, I thought it'd be best to upload the unfinished animation my flipbook account, just in case. Lucky for me I did. And lucky, too, I contacted the folks at flipbook.tv. A day or two later, I received the raw .png images in a ZIP file, added them to my photo gallery, imported them each as frames, and, well, the rest is movie history....
furball: That's exactly the reason why I think about buying an iPad, drawing / animating in it could be awesome!
CONGRATS! Haha looks like you've won again furbawl. Great work you definitely deserved this. :)
